The religious education program for those children of our parish not enrolled in our Catholic school is called P.R.E.P (Parish Religious Education Program) and is offered in two distinct sessions each year.
Weekly P.R.E.P. runs September 8 through May for students in preK - 8th grade on Sundays from 10:45 AM - 12:15 PM.
Parents meet one or more times during the year, depending on the grade level of their student.
Preparation for First Reconcilation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation requires students to participate in activities not only in the classroom but also at home and with other students on weekends.
First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation preparation programs serve students who have been baptized Catholic as infants, attend Mass regularly, and who have been enrolled in a religious education program at Queen of Peace or another Catholic parish.
Our Summer P.R.E.P. offers a more intensive setting and covers the yearly curriculum. Students in grades 1 - 8 attend from 9:00am - 12:30pm each day, Monday - Friday the last 2 weeks in June (June 15-26, 2020) to complete their systematic religious education for their appropriate grade level.
Additionally, summer PREP students participate in at least five extension activities throughout the school year to help keep them "in touch with" and "grounded in" the parish.
Parents attend one or more meetings throughout the school year, depending on the grade level of their student.
Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist is accomplished outside the classroom. In the fall, parents meet to receive information and books, and the actual preparation is accomplished in the home, parents and students together.
