The Queen of Peace Adult Chorale is the most active choral ensemble at our parish. Anyone from high school age may join, and no music reading ability is necessary. A liturgical ministry, the Queen's Chorale supports our congregation in the Hymns and offers Motets and Anthems that add to the solemnity of the our Sunday, Principle Mass.
Weekly rehearsals are Thursday from 7:00 -8:30pm in the choir room.
The Queen of Peace St. Cecilia Choir is open to all 4 th - 10th grade students at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. The goal of this Choir is to support our school and parish assemblies in liturgical song and to perform the finest literature for young Catholic singers. The St. Cecilia Choir participates each year in the Pueri Cantores Festival.
They lead the school Masses every Friday at 8:15am and join the Queen's Chorale for the Family Mass on the Third Sunday of each month.
Rehearsals are held Tuesdays before school from 7:45-8:30am and Fridays after school from 3:00-4:00pm
St. Dunstan's Choristers is a children's choir group open to all 2 nd-3 rd grade students at Queen of Peace Catholic School. This group focuses on teaching young minds how to use their voices to the glory of God, how to read music, and how to sing as a group.
They help the St. Cecilia Choir lead the all school Mass once each month and prepare the students for greater children's choir work at the 4th grade level.
Rehearsals are held on Tuesday afternoons from 3-3:45pm.
Cantors are the most visible leaders of music at parish liturgies. Cantors lead congregational hymns and songs, sing in dialogue with the assembly or presider, and proclaim the Responsorial Psalm and verse of the Gospel Acclamation. While normally chosen from among the choir, anyone interested in cantoring is encouraged to reach out to the Director of Sacred Music to talk about your desire to serve Queen of Peace Catholic Parish.
Our weekend liturgies are regularly enhanced with the addition of solo instruments or quartets. Musicians from Queen of Peace Parish and Queen of Peace School are encouraged to contact our Director of Sacred Music for a meeting and/or audition. Whether a professional, amateur or beginner, instrumentalists at all ability levels are encouraged to join this ministry!
