Puma Pals - Before and After Care

Queen of Peace offers parents an extended care program for students who are enrolled in either half-day or full-day programs.  Extended care provides a safe, supervised environment that includes indoor and outdoor play, quiet study time, and a variety of fun classroom games and activities.  Parents may drop-off their child as early as 7:15 AM and pick up as late as 6:00 PM when school is in session.  Registration in the program is required prior to program usage.

Queen of Peace Catholic School also offers childcare during mornings in which the start of the day is delayed due to bad weather.  Watch local TV and radio programs for complete information.

Puma Pals Program Activities

There will be time for self-directed activities, art & craft projects and active participation in games in the gym or playground. Daily opportunities for silent reading and homework for grades 3 - 8. An after-school snack and drink will be provided on a daily basis at no extra cost.

Puma Pals Costs

There is an annual family registration fee of $15.00 to enroll in the program.  The daily costs for care are as follows:

After 6:00 PM, a $10.00 late fee will be assessed after 10 minutes, and an additional $5.00 for every ten minutes thereafter. Students not picked up at the 3:00 PM dismissal will be charged a "late pick-up" fee of $1.00 per student per 10 minutes until 3:30 PM. After 3:30 PM the regular afternoon session charge will apply. Families not previously registered for the program will automatically be billed the $15.00 enrollment fee upon their first use of the program.Late Fees


Preschool Extended Care

Queen of Peace also offers extended care as part of our preschool program to allow students to attend a full academic day.  Preschool students may attend an extended care session when not in the traditional preschool classroom setting. Drop-in care is also available. Registration is required.

Preschool Extended Care Availability

A maximum of 10 students are permitted in each session at any given time. Students registered for full sessions will be given priority. Parents are encouraged to call ahead to check availability before utilizing drop-in care.

Preschool Extended Care Lunch/Transition Period

Lunch will be from 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM daily, followed by 11:30- Noon for rest time and/or recess. Any preschool student attending the extended care during this time will have the opportunity to eat lunch in our cafeteria. Please send a pack lunch with drink or you may arrange to pre-order through our school lunch program.

Preschool Extended Care Program Activities

There will be time for self-directed activities, art & craft projects and group aftivities. Daily opportunity for nap/rest time will be part of both the morning and afternoon sessions. Care needed before 7:40 AM and after 3:00 PM is handled by our Puma Pals Program and requires separate registration.
