Liturgical Ministries

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion - have a devotion to the Eucharist and a desire to serve the Parish community at Eucharistic Liturgies.  Once trained and commissioned, ministers are scheduled to serve at 2 or more Mass per month.

Lectors -  proclaim the Word of God at Eucharistic Liturgies and Vespers.  One trained, lectors are scheduled to serve at 2 or more weekend Masses per month.

Ministers of Hospitality - greet people as they enter the church, help distribute worship aids before Mass, assist the disabled in finding seating, and invite families to carry the gifts of bread and wine to the altar during the Offertory of the Mass.  Families, couples, and individuals are invited to volunteer for this ministry.

Ushers  - assist people in finding a seat in the assembly, take up the collection, distribute bulletins, and straighten the church after each Mass and other services.  After completing the training, ushers are scheduled to serve at 2 or more Masses per month.

Sacristans  - set up for weekday or Sunday Masses, Eucharistic Adoration, or special liturgical events on an occasional or recurring schedule.

Altar Servers -  assist the priest during the Mass and other liturgical services.  Boys in grades 5 and above who are enrolled in our school or PREP are invited to become servers.  Training is held periodically throughout the year.

Art and Environment  -  maintains the plants in the church, as well as prepares the church for liturgical seasons & special Feast Days.  This preparation includes changing the altar coverings; decorating for liturgical seasons; regularly watering plants; and maintaining the beauty of school and church entrances.

 

Rosary Leaders  - lead the recitation of the Rosary 25 minutes before weekend Masses.  Rosary leaders are scheduled to serve at Mass for one month at a time.  Pamphlets on leading the Rosary are available in the back of church in the brochure rack.
